Wulfenia | Instructions for Authors

Wulfenia publishes original research studies written in English dealing with botany and paleobotany, giving preference to systematics, taxonomy, floristics, morphology, chorology and vegetation science. Manuscripts must be of general interest and not only addressed to a specialized readership. Contributions from all over the world are welcome. The journal is annual. Please send manuscripts to the editor until June 30th.

The first page of each paper should indicate the title, a short title for use as a running head, the author’s names and affiliations, addresses, e-mail addresses and the phone number of the corresponding author. The following sections cover the usual contents: summary in English, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgements and references. Papers should not exceed 30 printed pages. Please submit manuscripts as data files (*.docx or *.rtf for WIN) by e-mail (preferred) or post. Line drawings can either be submitted as original drawings ready for print or as black-and-white photographs. Please save photographs, figures a.s.o. additional to the original copy as data files. The following graphic file formats are preferred: *.tif and *.jpg (resolution: 300 dpi in printing size). Figures should be numbered with Arabic numerals and referred to in the text. Each figure must be accompanied by a legend which should have a short instructive title line plus explanatory text as needed.

Authors are responsible for the completeness of references and consistency with the text of the manuscript. References in the text, tables and legends should be listed at the end of the paper in strict alphabetic order. Order should be by year of publication, if all authors and their sequence are identical for more than one reference. Punctuation, number and sequence of items required for the references are best taken from the following examples:

Takhtajan A. L. (1978): The floristic regions of the world. – Leningrad: Nauka. [In Russian]

Kraus T. A., Bianco C. A. & Weberling F. (2003): Root system morphology of Fabaceae species from central Argentina. – Wulfenia 10: 61–72.

Lammers T. G. (2007): Campanulaceae. – In: Kubitzki K. [ed.]: The families and genera of plants. Vol. 8: 26–56. – Berlin, Heidelberg: Springer.
